July: Sunshine, Fireworks, and Masks
We made it! We are officially in the second half of 2020, which has seemed like an eternity to get to. As the temperature has risen, so has the amount of outdoor activities and need to get out of the house and get some fresh air. We want to remind everyone that social distancing and mandate to wear a mask is still in affect in Wichita, so if you plan on going to the clubhouse for a change of scenery, please be cautious and wear a mask, sanitize the surfaces you touch, and maintain a social distance of 6 feet to keep yourself and everyone around you safe. While we will keep the clubhouse open for now, we will not have anyone coming in to wipe down surfaces and sanitize daily. Please be courteous of the residents around you and make sure you are following the CDC guidelines and stay home if you have any COVID-19-like symptoms.
On a lighter note, we all had the chance to celebrate Independence Day this past weekend and, boy, was it a “blast!” Even if you aren’t a fan of the noise of fireworks, it is difficult to not appreciate their beauty and the joy of watching the younger generations watch in awe. There were many “first fourth of July” photos floating around different social media outlets, allowing us to feel together even when many of us were not able to celebrate in the large groups that we normally do. But what greater joy is there than little grins, watermelon stained lips (and shirts), and constant giggles from excitement?
We hope that each one of you had a great holiday weekend even though the celebrations looked a little different this year. Let’s see what the rest of July and 2020 hold for us!
Stay safe. Stay Healthy. Stay Optimistic.
